Hudkeshwar police on Friday produced the accused arrested in the minor girl torture case in the court and obtained his ten-day police custody. The accused Ishtaq Ahmed Khan (39) was arrested by the police on Thursday while his wife Heena (30) is on the run. A team of Hudkeshwar Police reached Hyderabad to arrest Heena, said a police official.
The accused couple was residing in Row House No 3, Bungalow No19, at Atharva Nagari No 3 on Besa-Pipala Road. They had bought the 10-year-old girl from Punjab-Haryana to work as a house help. The girl was bought in 2021 for Rs 50,000. However, they used to torture her, even inflicting burn injuries on her private parts.

For the past four years, the girl was kept in captivity and was meted out inhuman treatment. The family had held the girl hostage. She was not allowed to venture out of the house and was forced to serve the couple. She was forced to do all the household chores. They would “punish” her for any “mistake”. The couple had a son who used to allegedly abuse the girl while Ishtaq Ahmed Khan, who was a smoker, used to inflict burns on her with cigarette butts. The girl was rescued by neighbours who took her to Hudkeshwar Police Station.
