In a tragic incident, an elderly man was killed while six persons injured in speeding Metro bus and truck collision at Lameta by-pass square under the jurisdiction of Tilwara police station, on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Netram Patel (62), resident of Chowkital in Bhedaghat while six passengers named Malti Choudhary, Saroj Jharia, Pradeep Dahiya, Nisha Mallah and Suhanshi Sigaure were injured. According to Tilwara police, receiving the information of a road accident at Lameta by-pass, a police team reached the spot and found that a metro bus (MP-20PA-1282) and truck (MP-39T-2445) collided and around half dozen passengers of metro bus were injured in the accident. The injured were rushed at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College and Hospital with the help of 108 Ambulance Service. In the primary check-up, one of the injured named Netram Patel was declared brought dead while condition of other injured is reported to be stable undergoing treatment at the hospital.
An eye witness named Kamlesh Patel (45), resident of Chowkital in Bhedaghat informed that he is owner of pan kiosk at Lameta by-pass square. He was at his kiosk when he witnessed metro bus numbered MP-20PA-1282 ferrying passengers from Bhedaghat towards Sagra while a truck numbered MP-39T-2445 was heading towards Nagpur from Andhmuk square. The speeding truck rammed into the metro bus from left side and some of the passengers sustained critical injuries. Tilwara police have registered a case under Sections 304(A), 279 and 337 of IPC while further investigations are underway to ascertain reason behind the accident.
