AL AZIZ Football Club and Deputy Director Sports and Youth Services Football Academy (DDSYS) recorded contrasting victories over their respective rivals in the ongoing Dr Nitin Raut Trophy Football Tournament being played at Indora ground in North Nagpur. Al Aziz faced stiff challenge before they managed to beat Orange Sports 2-0.

Rizwan Ahmad put Al Aziz ahead in the 20th minute and Farhan made it 2-0 with a 31st minute strike.

 

In the other match, DDSYS crushed Dongra Warriors 5-0. Pratik Mishra was on target in the 25th minute of play. Dongra Warriors were unlucky as they conceded an own goal in the 27th after Utkarsh Kotangale failed to clear the ball and instead sent it in their own citadel. Two minutes later, Yash Giri increased the lead with a solo effort. Syed Qasim Ali (43rd) and Gaurav Ghoshal (48th) then toyed with Dongra Warriors defence to register a resounding victory.

 

In another match, Al Fateh beat MHM Warispura 5-3 via tie-breaker after both the teams were locked at 1-1 at the end of regulation time. Saquib Javed put Ah Fateh ahead in the 43rd minute but Umar drew parity in the 58th for MHM Warispura. Mateen, Nadeem, Danish, Saquib Javed scored for Al Fateh in shoot-out while for Warispura, Umar and Faiz Gazi scored.
