Collector Saurabh Kumar Suman conducted inspection on-going construction of Damoh Naka-Madan Mahal flyover on Friday afternoon. During the inspection, Suman directed senior officials of Public Works Department and construction company to ensure the completion of CC road under the flyover, including Baldevbag and Ranital Junction, by October. He started the inspection by assessing the progress of extension work of the flyover from Gohalpur. On the occasion, the Collector asked for expediting construction work on the extension and swiftly addressing any obstacles while also accelerating land acquisition efforts.

 

He directed the concerned departments to take immediate action. Collector Suman also took a closer look at the completed portion of the flyover, extending from LIC to Mahanadda Chowk. He informed that completed portion is expected to be open for public use by the end of September. Senior official of PWD informed the Collector that construction of flyover from Damohnaka to Madan Mahal, excluding the cable-stayed bridge over the railway line at Madan Mahal, would be completed by October. They also informed that construction of cable-stayed bridge over the railway line will also be completed by March or April next year. Similarly, the extension of the flyover is scheduled for completion by September next year. After inspecting flyover construction work, Collector Saurabh Kumar Suman convened a meeting with all concerned senior officials at Smart City office. He set specific timelines for the construction of each segment of the flyover, stressing the need for expeditious work and strict adherence to the deadlines. Suman also warned that officials causing delays could face consequences. Municipal Commissioner Swapnil Wankhade, Chief Engineer of PWD S C Verma and Deputy Engineer Gopal Gupta were also present during the inspection.
