Distt administration starts vaccination to protect cattle from Lumpy virus

On the instructions of Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, a vaccination campaign has been started in the gauthans of the Municipal Corporation area to protect the cattle from Lumpy virus. Raipur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mayank Chaturvedi has directed the corporation officials to ensure proper arrangements and vaccination to protect the animals from Lumpy virus in all the operated gauthans and if any animal shows symptoms of the virus then make arrangements to keep it isolated immediately. Under the campaign, in the first phase, 192 animals of Gokul Nagar Gauthan were vaccinated and health checkup of the animals was also done. It is known that cattle in various states of the country were affected by Lumpy virus last year. Keeping this in view, Collector Dr Bhure has given instructions to take necessary precautions, health check-up and vaccination of cattle. Under this, a campaign has been started in the Municipal Corporation area to protect the cattle from Lumpy virus and prevent its infection.
Lumpy is a viral skin disease, which mainly affects animals.
 
It is spread by blood-sucking insects, such as flies, some species of mosquitoes and ticks. The initial symptoms of lumpy are fever in animals, loss of appetite in animals, continuous runny nose, watery eyes and lumps on the skin. In view of this, the RMC is making arrangements for vaccination and other measures in all its Gauthans. Under the guidance of RMC Commissioner Mayank Chaturvedi, Additional Commissioners Abhishek Agrawal and Shailendra Patle have directed all the Zone Commissioners and Zone Health Officers to take special precautions in the Gauthans operating under their zone area.
