Hawk Force jawans gunned down a Naxalite carrying a cash reward of Rs 14 lakh in an encounter in the forest of Kundul-Koddapar and Songudda, in wee hours of Friday. Under the direction of senior officers of Balaghat district, Hawk Force involved in Naxalite elimination got major success. In the wee hours of Friday, Hawk Force team gunned down a Naxalite.

 

Naxalite Kamlu (25) was an active member of Malanjkhand Dalam (at present), active since 2015 in MMC zone, guard of maoist SZCM Dama of ACM Tanda Darrekasa Area Committee. He was a native of Guglapur, West Bastar, Beejapur, Chhattisgarh. On Friday, SOG Birsa Hawk Force party was carrying out searching in the jungles of Kundal-Koddapar and Songudda under the jurisdiction of Roopjhar police chowki, after receiving inputs of presence of a group of Naxalite in the jungle. While searching, Hawk Force team were caught in firing by these Naxalites. Hence, the Jawan retaliated and gunned down Kamlu.

 

This is the third biggest success of Hawk Force this year. Earlier, on April 22, in the jungles of Kandla, Balaghat police had eliminated a woman Naxalite Area Commander carrying cash reward of Rs 14 lakh on her head and in guard Bhoramdev Area Commander, ACM Sunita working in Vistar Dalam and guard of Naxalite Kabir Sarita, member of Visar Dalam, were killed in the ambush on Friday. Senior police officers also reached the encounter site. Police informed that many Naxalites were injured in the encounter and hence jawans have intensified search in the forest.
