ST John’s High School thrashed Ramesh Chandak High School by five goals to nil and then beat Swaminarayan to storm into the final of the District Sports Office organised inter-school Under-15 hockey tournament (NMC) at St Mary’s School ground. In a one-sided match, St John’s scored the goals through Tarhni Khan (2nd), Gaurav Madne (5th), Sumit Ranasingh (8th), Pratyush Chaudhary (46th) and Shreyas Birelly (54th min). St John’s, playing their second match of the day, blanked Swaminarayan School 2-0 with Sumit Ranasingh scoring both the goals in 7th and 18th minute of play.
They will now play Madan Gopal High School, who beat St Vincent Pallotti 2-0, in the final. Yash Bamnel scored for the winners in the 35th minute and Nitesh Gupta converted a penalty corner in the 56th minute to register an easy win.
