NAGPUR’S Vaishnavi Manglekar and Anudhya Satpute continued their winning momentum as they reached the semi-finals of Yonex Sunrise Maharashtra State Mini U-11 and U-13 State Championship under way at Virar in Palghar.
Nagpur district girls Under-13 champions Vaishnavi stunned second seed Khyati Katre of Pune 2-0. Vaishnavi had to fight out hard to win the first game 22-20. But in the second, she cruised to a 21-10 win. Vaishnavi will take on Soyara Shelar of Pune in the semi-finals on Wednesday.
The Under-11 district champion Anudhya defeated Maithili Tarase of Sangli 21-11, 21-10 easily to book a last four spot. She will take on Kyra Rana of Pune. In the boys section, district U-13 champion Aditya Yaul made it to the boys singles quarter-finals after he defeated Bennet Biju of Nashik 15-06, 15-12. Aditya will play Mayuresh Bhutki of Raigad in the last eight match. Vaishnavi and Aditya trains under coach Amit Raut at the Indoor hall of Divisional Sports Complex in Mankapur.
