Two girl gymnasts from Nagpur have been selected in the Indian team for the Asian Acrobatics Gymnastics Championship. The 13th Junior and Senior Acrobatics Gymnastics Asian Championship will be held at Tashkent in Uzbekistan from October 18 to 20. Khanak Jain and Alfiya Khan of District Sports Training Centre, Nagpur participated in the All India championship which was organised by Gymnastics Federation of India at Hanuman Vyayam Prasarak Mandal, Amravati.

 

During the competition, participants from Haryana, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, West Bengal, Delhi participated. Khanak and Alfiya gave a stellar performance and booked India tickets. Both gymnasts practice regularly at District Sports Training Centre, Mankapur under the guidance of Mukesh Ghyar. President of Gymnastics Association Nagpur Subhash Gangrediwar, Secretary Purushottam Darvankar, Deputy Director Sports and Youth Services Shekhar Patil, District Sports Officer Pallavi Dhatrak, Maharashtra Amateur Gymnastics President Sanjay Shete, Secretary Dr Makarand Joshi congratulated both the players.
