Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Area (NMRDA) will launch an on-line facility for citizens to enable them to cross-check status of land under its jurisdiction. This will be helpful in averting cases of fraud in land deals. Manoj Kumar Suryawanshi, Chairman, NMRDA, during media interaction held at his office, on Wednesday, said, NMRDA has a database of 3,567 sq km and there would be no problem in rolling out the on-line facility for verification of land parcels. With this facility in place, citizens will not fall prey to bogus claims of developers. With rapid urbanisation, citizens are being lured with claims about NMRDA sanctioned and release letter (RL) plots and with no facility of verifying the same, citizens often are duped in the land deals, he added.
Suryawanshi said, so far, not a single RL has been issued in NMRDA area. Hence citizens should get the documents cross-checked before buying plots. The said cross-checking facility will soon be initiated on NMRDA website (nmrda.org) and citizens would have to fill in the Khasra no., village name and tehsil. NMRDA would charge nominal fee for the said facility and within three-working days, citizens would get all details on their registered mobile number.
