Decomposed tiger carcass found in BTR

A carcass of tiger almost in decomposed situation was found in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve (BTR), Umaria, on intervening night of Tuesday-Wednesday. Forest team reached the spot to start further enquiry. According to reports, patrolling team recovered the carcass in Chilhari beat of Pator forest circle during routine patrolling. They informed about the carcass to the senior forest authorities and team reached the spot on immediate basis. Forest team said that movement of another young tiger has been also recorded in the same area. All the body parts including tooth, moustache, nails, paws, etc are intact. Field staff has been assigned around the carcass with CCTV camera surveillance.
 
The reserve deputy director P K Verma confirmed the tiger carcass has been recovered from Chilhari beat and movement of another tiger is also recorded from the same area. He said, last rites of the tiger was conducted on Wednesday afternoon as it was almost in decomposing situation. He said that further enquiry is continued. Reason for the tiger’s death is yet to be find out. He said that movement of another tiger was found in CCTV cameras that was installed to secure the carcass.
