ILLEGAL CONSTRUCTION in Kaliyasot river periphery to be removed next week

 

 

 

 

 

Ground action to remove the constructions built within a radius of 33 meters from the 36 km-long Kaliyasot river can be seen from next week. The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has identified more than 70 constructions within 33 meters of the river for removal. Instead of 33 meters of Kaliyasot river passing through the capital Bhopal, there is construction situation in the river itself. The district administration has to submit the report related to following the order of National Green Tribunal (NGT) by January 15. In such a situation, the effort is to start removing the constructions inside and on the banks of the river, so that there is no difficulty in submitting the order compliance report before the NGT. If the construction is not removed then there will be difficulty in getting the deadline extended from NGT.

 

The meeting of the High Level Committee formed to hear the objections on Kaliyasot will be held on Friday. Joint Director Nagrota Village Investor has been made the chairman of the committee, while the convenor is the city planner of the municipal corporation. Matters related to construction within 33 meter radius of the river will be discussed in the meeting. The committee will take a decision considering all the permissions and circumstances. Many big residential projects are coming up within 33 meter radius from Kaliyasot. In these, the corporation administration and district administration have issued notices to more than 1,100 buildings.

 

It is noteworthy that Map IT had found 1,100 constructions through drone survey within 33 meters radius from the Kaliyasot river bank. It’s list was given to the district administration and BMC administration. On the basis of this, they are doing physical verification and marking. Also giving demolishing notices to the people terming their constructions illegal. In this, notices have also been received by those whose buildings were given permission within 30 meters. Instead of demolishing the constructions on which there is dispute, their case will be placed before the committee. Meanwhile, after the action of demarcation and marking of the district administration, the problems of the people have also increased. In fact, many colonies have developed on the banks of the river, which have been sold by the colonisers.
