The prize distribution ceremony of the Annual Mine Safety Fortnight 2023 was organised on Thursday under the joint aegis of Directorate General of Mine Safety and Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) at Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Stadium, C.W. S. Tadali, Urjagram in Chandrapur. Prabhat Kumar, Director General, Directorate General of Mine Safety, Dhanbad, was chief guest of the function and S D Chidarwar was the special guest. Manoj Kumar, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of WCL, presided over the function.

 

In his address, Manoj Kumar said that safety in mining should be adopted as a lifestyle. He further emphasized on use of new technology, proper training, awareness, strict adherence to safety rules, healthy lifestyle etc. Prabhat Kumar in his address said that safety should be a part of daily work. This objective can be achieved only with the combined efforts of the coal management, personnel and the Directorate General of Mine Safety.

 

The welcome address was given by D.B. Revatkar, General Manager (Security & Protection). S P Singh, former Advisor (Public Relations); Anupama Tembhurnikar, Chief Manager (Personnel) and C J Joseph, Member, CIL Safety Board, jointly conducted the proceedings of the function while Abhash Chandra Singh, Regional General Manager, Vani Area, proposed the vote of thanks.
