Gosalpur police have arrested two accused and seized 34 logs of teakwood amounting to Rs 1 lakh and a loading pick-up vehicle from them. The arrested have been identified as Satish Thakur (19), resident of Kudwari in Adhartal and Krishnapal Singh (30), native of Jaisingh Nagar in Shahdol and currently lived at Narmada Nagar in Gohalpur. SHO of Gosalpur police station, Priyanka Kewat informed that during the patrolling police tried to stop a pick-up vehicle at Barnu Tiraha which was heading towards Kevlari road.
 
Instead of stopping the vehicle, pick-up driver tried to escape from the spot but alert cops managed to stop the vehicle. Police detained two men travelling in the pick-up. In the checking, police found logs of teakwood loaded on the vehicle but its driver failed in presenting any document pertaining to transportation of teakwood. Police have seized 34 logs of teakwood amounting to Rs 1 lakh and pick-up vehicle and arrested both the accused.
 
Gohalpur police have registered a case under Section 379 of IPC and 15, 26(1)(F), 41, 41A and 5 of Indian Forest Act while further investigations are underway to identify the source of receiving the illegal stock of teakwood. Illegal stock of teakwood was seized with active working of police team comprised of ASI, Ramesh Tiwari, Constables, Sonu Jha and Sainik Shivkumar Dubey.
