The Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Wednesday approved various development works under the Prime Minister Janjati Adivasi Maha Nyay Abhiyan (PM-Janman), launched for the socio-economic welfare of tribal groups. The Cabinet gave approval for construction of new Anganwadi centres, hostels, multi-purpose centres, roads and housing units in 23 districts of specially backward tribal areas. The Cabinet gave approval for the establishment and operation of 194 new Anganwadi centers for the PM-Janman in specially backward tribal areas under the “Saksham Anganwadi and Nutrition 2.0” scheme. The buildings will be constructed by the Gram Panchayat on the designs, which suit the tribal environment. New centers will be opened in villages of Specially Backward Tribal areas having a population of 100 or more and having no Anganwadi centre. A total expenditure of Rs 15.70 crore has been approved for the operation of Anganwadi centres. For the operation of 194 Anganwadi centers in 2023-24, an amount of Rs 1.43 crore will be given as central share and Rs 3.93 crore as State share. Thus Rs 5.36 crore per year will be spent. In the financial year 2024-25 and 2025-26, a sum of Rs 1.32 crore as central share and Rs 3.85 crore will be provided as State share. Expenditure of Rs 5.17 crore will be annually spent. Thus a total amount of Rs 15.70 crore has been approved.
 
More than Rs 384 crore for hostels in specially backward tribes: The Cabinet decided to construct hostels for boys and girls near 110 settlements at 55 places in 20 districts under the School Education Department for providing quality educational facilities to the children of families living in the settlements predominantly habitated by specially backward tribal areas. A total of Rs 384.6 crore has been approved for this work. The Government of India has approved the construction of 125 multipurpose centers in the State for 11 different activities in specially backward tribal areas. The Government of India will give 100% financial assistance for the construction of these centers. For the construction of each centre 2200 square feet will be required. Out of this, building will be constructed on 1605 square feet. The land allotment will be done by the District Collector. Roads, housing construction in settlements of Baiga, Sahariya and Bhariya The Cabinet has given approval in-principle a new scheme for improving road connectivity and housing construction in the habitations of Baiga, Sahariya and Bhariya tribes. The scheme will be implemented by the Rural Development Department under PM-Janman.
 
Villages belonging to special backward tribes having population up to 100 will also be connected to pucca roads. A total of 978 roads and 50 bridges measuring 2403 km will be built in 981 habitations having no connectivity. An investment of Rs 2354 crore will be made in 3 years. An amount of Rs 2 lakh will be given for construction of houses to each beneficiary. An amount of Rs 27 thousand equivalent to 90/95 days for unskilled labour will be given from MNREGA and Rs 12 thousand will be given for construction of toilets from Swachh Bharat Mission. This will benefit more than one lakh beneficiary families. A budget provision of Rs 4604 crore has been made for road and housing construction. Approval for 30 new posts for new Govt Law College, Agar Malwa The Cabinet has approved the creation of 30 new posts including 22 of academic cadre and 8 of non-academic cadre for the new Government Law College, Agar Malwa. For this, recurring expenditure of Rs 1 crore 99 lakh 50 thousand per year and non-recurring expenditure of Rs 20 lakh have been approved.
 
Decision to amend electricity distribution license The Cabinet has decided to amend the power distribution license for setting up a power and renewable energy equipment manufacturing area on 227.54 acres in Mohasa-Babai area in Narmadapuram. It is noteworthy that in November, 2022, the Government of India gave approval for setting up electricity and renewable energy equipment manufacturing area on 227.54 acres in Mohasa-Babai area. For this, the Government of India has provided a grant of Rs 371 crore 15 lakh. Mohassa Babai, District Narmadapuram has been declared as Industrial Township. Industrial Development Corporation has been authorised to obtain a separate distribution license for power distribution for this area. The Cabinet has approved amendment in Madhya Pradesh Medical Education (Gazetted) Service Recruitment Rules 2023.
