Nirav Gharpure and Arohi Chakole won gold medals in the sub-junior category of Taekwon-do competition held at Vivekanand Nagar Sports Complex during the Khasdar Krida Mahotsav being organised by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. In the Under-12 boys’ sub-junior category, Nirav defeated Shaswat Dhenge to win the first gold medal in the Under-25 kg weight category. Shaswat Dhenge had to settle for a silver medal. Shiyan Tirpude bagged the bronze medal while Arnav Bhumbar bagged the second bronze medal. Arohi Chakole won the gold medal defeating Smital Sonkusare in the Under-12 girls’ category. Kriti Ganveer and Sanchita Padole bagged bronze medals.

 

Yashasvi Kubde scored a hat-trick as Ira International tharshed St Vincent Pallotti by five goals to nil in the hockey tournament at Vidarbha Hockey Association ground. Yashavi scored her hat-trick in 9th, 32nd, 40th minute after Purva Dhandare (7th) had put them ahead. Purva Dhandare (51st) also sounded the board. In the U-17 category, Dinanath High School beat Gyan Vidya Mandir by three goals to nil. Ishan Tirpude (4th), Adved Randhai (6th, 16th) were the goal getters. In another match, SECR defeated MOIL 2-1. Mohd Ajaz (38th) and Rajhans Singh (50th) scored for the railmen while Shiv Prakash Pande (46th) reduced the margin for MOIL.

 

SOUTH East Cenrtal Railways claimed the football title defeating Young Muslim Football Club by a solitary goal scored by P Tushal in the 55th minute. In the women’s section, Al Nassar ousted Squadran FC 4-2 via tie-breaker.

Hritika B, Nidhi V, Nikhita B, and Malvika Temburne scored for Al Nassar while for Squadran, Tripti Sakhare and Krutika Mate found the back of the net.
