Devotion paints Ramtek saffron

Ramtek, considered Vidarbha’s Ayodhya, was painted saffron on Monday to mark the momentous occasion of consecration of Ram Lalla idol in Ayodhya temple. Devotees thronged the historic Shri Ram Mandir (Gad Mandir) in Ramtek to celebrate the occasion. Devotion filled the atmosphere throughout the town. Already, the holy town of Ramtek has been getting soaked in devotional fervour with the ongoing ‘Maha Sanskruti Mahotsav. Ahead of the consecration of Ram Lalla idol at Ayodhya, the temple town of Ramtek was decked up for the momentous occasion. The saffron pennants with images of Shri Ram and Hanuman imprinted on them lined the streets. Rangolis were drawn, Ram Rajya Dhol Pathak played band, Panchjanya Shankhnaad group blew conches as part of rituals for the holy occasion. Right from the leaders to the ordinary citizens, everyone took out rallies to the Gad Mandir.
 
At the historic Gad Mandir, ‘Maha-aarti’ of Shri Ram was performed in presence of a huge crowd inside the sanctum sanctorum and outside. The devotees celebrated the occasion by distributing sweets and ‘Mahaprasad’ soon after. The adventure sports facility Cherry Farm showered flowers on Shri Ram Mandir from sky with the help of paramotors.
Devotees formed a long queue to seek ‘darshan’ of the deity. The entire temple area was decorated with garlands. Rangolis were drawn in the area as well as in front of houses in the town. In the evening, Ramakrishna Rathyatra was taken out. At night, a ‘Mashaal Yatra’ also was taken out to celebrate the occasion.
