PAKISTAN, factually, should have no business saying anything about Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple and the Pran Pratishtha of the idol of Ram Lalla. Yet, its Foreign Affairs Ministry has issued a statement accusing India of what it called ‘majoritarianism’ referring to the grand event at Ayodhya. The statement has also accused India of ignoring the welfare of the minority Muslim community, thus attempting to instigate an antagonistic feeling in that segment of the larger Indian society. This attempt is nothing but a clear indication of the narrative Pakistan is spreading -- in conjunction with some domestic political elements in India. Any such attempt actually carries no weight whatsoever in India and elsewhere in the world. For, the country -- and the world -- now recognises the importance of the happy social assimilation achieved through the Ayodhya Temple movement and its culmination that was accepted by the larger Indian society with a lot of equanimity.
Yet, Pakistan does not seem to be able to get rid of its ugly habit of dabbling in Indian affairs when it has no locus standi on any of the issues.
It must be recalled that when a particular litigant had urged the honourable Supreme Court not to bring up the Ayodhya case for final verdict before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections fearing its impact on the electoral outcome, Pakistan also had picked the same theme to highlight. The honourable Supreme Court, however, did not pay any heed to that plea and the subsequent cacophony and went ahead with its calendar, in the process bringing about a great change in the political paradigm of the country.
Pakistan had made a similar attempt when India sought to abrogate Articles 370 and 35A of the Constitution of India from Jammu and Kashmir, though with no impact on the Indian decision-making process. On many other occasions, too, Pakistan had tried to dabble in Indian affairs -- to do which it has no constitutional reason and support. Yet, habit it has become with Pakistan to keep dabbling in India’s internal affairs -- as if it has no other work to do in its own interests, and all the time in the world to keep a so-called hawk’s eye on what India does internally.
In the Ayodhya movement and its honourable culmination, Pakistan has no business to interfere. That matter was pending a peaceful and honourable resolution for the past 500-plus years -- even before Pakistan was born or even conceptualised.
The larger Indian society saw serious confrontations between the two sides, but also saw the peaceful manner of sorting out the issue finally. No matter some flutter in political circles, the larger Indian society honoured the solution offered by the Supreme Court and accepted the practical outcome of the dispute. The Shri Ram Temple is now a reality with Ram Lalla having been installed there, and a very big mosque also having been planned on a five-acre plot, as the world lauded the way of handling the issue.
Against this background, nobody appears to have a serious issue in this regard -- except Pakistan whose objections have no sense and no relevance of any kind. Some voices of different concerns may be there, but the overall Muslim community has accepted the solution with open mind. Pakistan, therefore, should understand that its dabbling in India’s internal affairs in such a crude and stupid manner has no meaning. It should keep its filthy mouth shut on these matters and correct its own act first before looking at internal Indian affairs. It must realise that it is a sinking ship and will go down completely in a short while if it does not correct its own ways and means. It must realise that it is its own marauder.
