PROPERTY worth lakhs of rupees was gutted in a massive fire outbreak at a factory that located in Light Industrial Area (LIA) in Bhilai on Tuesday morning. After information the fire fighting squads from various agencies reached the troubled locations immediately and doused fire completely. However no one was injured in the fire mishap. According to the information, at about 9:30 am on Tuesday, high rising flames and emission of thick smoke came to notice at Shivam Hi Tech Steels Private Limited that located at LIA, Bhilai. On information fire fighting squads from District Home Guard, J K Lakshmi Cement Company and Bhilai Steel Plant reached the troubled location and undertaking fire fighting and doused fire pressing fire tenders into services. After prolonged fire fighting exercise the fire was brought under control.
Nagendra Kumar Singh, District Fire Officer told the newspaper that after information teams of fire fighters reached the spot immediately and undertook the fire fighting. He also informed that possibly short circuit or sparks from furnace might have led the fire mishap but it will finally be ascertained by the experts and agencies concerned. As per information the industrial unit deals in titanium used for strengthening iron products. He also informed that the fire fighters pressed into services as many as five combined tenders, comprising foam and water to douse fire. It was an intensive fire fighting and it took over three hours to douse fire completely. It was the titanium scrap fire and titanium is highly inflammable.
