Aakash, Vedanti emergeChampion of Champions

VIDARBHA’S Aakash Burde and Vedanti Pawar bagged the Champion of Champions trophies as they were declared as best male and female players in traditional event of the 35th National Yogasana Championship that concluded recently. The national event was organised by Radhikatai Pandav Charitable Trust and Vidarbha Yoga Association at Ira International School, Besa. Team Maharashtra emerged champions while Vidarbha finished runner-up. The third place was won by Chhattisgarh. In the three-day contest, around 400 contestants of different age groups from 13 states took part in traditional, rhythmic and artistic events.

The top three teams were rewarded with Radhikatai Pandav Trophy, Krushnarao Pandav Trophy and Dr Chandrakant Raghtate Trophy. Police Inspector Kakde of Beltarodi Police Station, Shiv Chhatrapati Awardee Girish Gadge, Sports Organiser Hemant Dongaokar, Dr Shrikant Varankar, Suresh Gandhi, Sachin Mathne, Adv Aditi Durugkar, Kirti Varankar and Preeti Bala gave away the prizes. Organising Secretary Anand Dabre lead a dedicated team comprising Sandip Mohanto, Dr Pankaj Kunde, Laxmikant Meshram, Dilip Bhoyar, Sonu Sorte and others who worked hard to make the event a big success.

Artistic (Top two) 6-10 Girls Singles: Madhura Varankar (Vid), Shruti Waghela (Guj). 10-20 Boys Singles: Samrat Delikar, Siddhesh Varankar (both Vid). 10-20 Girls Pairs: Sai and Swarnika Newaskar (Mah), Tulsi and Daksha (Guj). 20-30 Mixed Pairs: Roshni and Ramanand (Telangana).

Rhythmic 6-10 Girls Singles: Inaya Jain (Vid), Shreya Adsul (Mah), Khushai Shetty (AP). 10-20 Boys Singles: Ram Zade (Vid), Nishraj Mandiwad, Sahil Khapne (both Mah). 10-20 Girls Singles: Shreya Hazare (Mah), Rutushri Sanket (Guj), Aksha Shaikh (Mah). 20-40 Women’s Singles: Aakanksha Uikey (Vid), Chhaya Waghela (Guj), Mrunali Shahre (Vid). 20-40 Men’s Singles: Dhirajsingh Bisen (Vid), Devendra Kumar (CG), Vishalraj Patil (Mah). 10-20 Girls Pairs: Ishani Honard and Shravani Kaduskar, Sanjana and Kaveri, Asihwarya Khandke and Harshali Virkar. 10-20 Boys Pairs: Shaunak Amte and Ram Zade.
