Customs Commissionerate Nagpur conducts seminar on AEO programme

 

 

 

 

 

A seminar on ‘Authorised Economic Operator’ (AEO) programme’ was organised by Customs Commissionerate Nagpur at GST Bhawan Nagpur, which was inaugurated by Chief Commissioner, K C Johny, Customs and Central GST, Nagpur Zone. The programme was attended by the Commissioner of Customs Nagpur Sanjay Kumar, Additional Commissioner Peeyoush Bhati, Additional Commissioner (CCO) Venkatesham Anamala and others senior Customs Officers. Chief Commissioner, K C Johny, Nagpur Zone urged the stakeholders to mention their problem and suggestions related to AEO status.

 

Further, Amit Chaudhary, Deputy Commissioner, Directorate of International Customs, New Delhi, had come for sharing the details and benefits of AEO which is a flagship programme of CBIC. The benefits of AEO programme were discussed during the seminar in length. The major key points were: Recognised as safe, secure, and compliant business partners in international trade; Highest level of Customs facilitation; Facility of Direct Port Delivery (DPD) for imports; Facility of Direct Port Entry (DPE) for exports; Waiver of full or part of bank guarantee requirements; Facility of deferred payment of Customs Duties on imports and self-certified copies of documents accepted for clearance. The seminar was attended by more than 50 importers, exporters, customs brokers, custodian, shipping lines and other stakeholders. Peeyoush Bhati proposed a vote of thanks to all the members of the seminar.
