City police probing BJP functionary Sana Khan’s murder case recovered a laptop and a mobile phone from the Jabalpur residence of her husband-turned-foe and prime accused Amit alias Pappu Sahu on Wednesday. The gadgets are crucial evidence in the sextortion case that was registered against Sahu and his gang members as the cops lay hands on over a dozen videos. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone II Rahul Madne said that the gadgets were recovered from the house of Sahu’s mother near his Dhaba in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. Sahu owns two houses in Jabalpur. Sana Khan was allegedly murdered at the residence of Pappu Sahu while the gadgets were recovered from the house of Shahu’s mother, he said.

After arresting Pappu and his accomplices Ramesh Singh, Dharmendra Yadav, Rabbu Chaha alias Ravishankar Yadav and Kamlesh Patel, the police had registered a separate case of sextortion against Pappu and unidentified persons from Nagpur and Jabalpur on August 20, 2023. The gadgets have crucial videos of Sana Khan which could give a new twist to the sextortion case. The gang used to target male victims and send Khan to them to extort money. The police are now suspecting involvement of a person from Nagpur in the murder case.

Sana went missing on August 2, 2023 after a confrontation with Pappu Sahu. The relationship between the two had reportedly soured, with Pappu suspecting Sana’s fidelity. The situation escalated on August 1 during a video call between Sana and Amit. Following the altercation, Sana traveled to Jabalpur on August 2 and entered Pappu’s residence, where a violent confrontation ensued, resulting in her murder. According to police, Pappu had hatched the conspiracy and purportedly called Sana to Jabalpur to kill her. Despite an exhaustive search operation, Sana’s body was never recovered. Police had said that Sahu led a gang in which Khan was used as a honey-trap.
