State Public Works Minister, Rakesh Singh officially assumed office in the ministry in Bhopal on Wednesday night. Following the formal ceremony, Singh said the choice of Wednesday night was due to the absence of any auspicious dates until January 6. He clarified that the delay in assuming office in the morning was because the Chief Minister was in Jabalpur and Singh was accompanying him at the time. Singh, emphasizing the national commitment to rapid development with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's slogan of "Gatiman Bharat," pointed out that India has successfully become one of the fast-developing countries globally.
 
Expressing his dedication to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's leadership, Singh pledged to make Madhya Pradesh as the most progressive state. He assured that the Public Works Department would work hard towards fulfilling all commitments made by the Chief Minister concerning the department. Singh said his aim is to give needed pace to ongoing development projects. The PWD Minister further said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi direction of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav they will ensure path of continuous development for Madhya Pradesh.
