Extreme cold conditions with dense fog and light rain in various parts of Madhya Pradesh is giving tough time to citizens for past one week. Sunday morning began with heavy rainfall in Harda and light rain in Bhopal and a few other cities. Gwalior and Guna remained coldest city with maximum temperature of 15 degree Celsius and 17 degree Celsius respectively. On January 6, 11 cities in the State recorded day temperature below 20 degree Celsius. On Sunday, 10 cities including Bhopal- Jabalpur recorded rainfall and 22 districts recorded dense fog. People in State capital are waiting for sunny day for past one week. Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) said that weather is likely to continue till January 12. IMD said that after current system passes away, cold conditions will continue in the State.
 
From January 8, another weather system is being activated in the State and that will continue till January 12. Fog and light rain is likely to continue in the State for a few days. New weather system will be declining night temperature in the State. On Saturday-Sunday night, minimum temperature in Bhopal was recorded at 14.1 degree Celsius, Indore 13.2 degree Celsius, Gwalior 9.5 degree Celsius, Jabalpur 16.8 degree Celsius and Ujjain 12.5 degree Celsius. Lowest minimum temperature was recorded as 9.5 degree Celsius in Gwalior while Umaria recorded minimum temperature as 17.4 degree Celsius.
