After the case of sexual abuse of a five-year-old girl in a private school in Ratlam came to light, a large number of parents reached the school on Monday morning. The parents reportedly created a ruckus and staged a sit-in protest regarding the safety of the children. On receiving the information, the police officials reached the spot and after discussing with the parents, pacified them and diffused the matter. After this, the school was sealed. The incident came to light after the girl told her mother about ‘bad touch’ by the boy. As per information, the accused is a student of class 10 of the same school. An investigation was conducted after the girl’s mother lodged a complaint that her daughter was sexually assaulted in the school where she is a UKG student.

The accused boy has been taken into custody. Talking to ‘The Hitavada’ V D Joshi, Station Incharge of Industrial Area, Ratlam, said that the accused is a student of class 10. The incident of ‘bad touch’ occurred on September 24 whereas the girl was a kindergarten student told the parents about the case on 28. “The school has been also closed for a few days,” he said. Joshi further said that the boy has been booked under sections 65-ii (Whoever commits rape on a woman under twelve years of age) and 75 (physical contact and advances involving unwelcome and explicit sexual overtures) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. “FIR has been lodged. Further investigations are going on,” CSP Ratlam Abhinav Varang told ‘The Hitavada. Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) chief Jitu Patwari expressed anguish and accused the Government of failing to protect daughters. “The news of a tragic incident with a 5-year-old girl in Ratlam has deeply disturbed me. Such incidents happen with our daughters every day in MP. I am deeply pained,” he stated on X on Sunday. “Daughters will not get justice by just asking for help from the government on social media. Now the Congress party will fight this battle on the streets,” he said.
