‘We need to learn root of Sanskritto understand our SANSKRITI’

“SANSKRIT is an ocean of knowledge. It en compasses a vast array of subjects that span various domains. To understand our ‘Sanskriti’ (culture),we first need to learnthe roots of Sanskrit,” said Vijay Phanshikar, Editor, The Hitavada, during the inauguration of ‘Geeta Pathan Varga’ conducted by Samskrit Bharti Nagpur Mahanagar held at Didolkar Sabhagruha,PandeyLayout,Khamla on Wednesday. “Sanskrit is not just a language. It is the epicentre of modern science. Therefore,do not learn Sanskrit just to read Bhagwat Geeta. Learn it to explore the history of Indian culture,” said Phanshikar. Our Sanskrit heritage contains a wealth of information from various fields, including sciences, arts, literature,linguistics,and philosophy.
 
Whether one seeks scientific principles,artistic inspiration,profound philosophical insights, or linguistic intricacies, Sanskrit has something to offer, he added. “To know about our culture,most of us read English language scripts or books. But the actual taste of our culture exist into ancient scripts or books like Geeta, Vedas and Upanishadas which were written in Sanskrit language,” said the Editor of the English daily. Sanskrit is an easy language. It just require peaceful mind and the interest to learn new things. It is as simple as other languages that we speak, he explained. Sanskrit has the power to deepen our awareness of our roots, culture, and magnificentheritage,fillinguswithimmense pride. It will reveal the splendour of ourhistory andthe vastwisdomour land has long held.
 
In the beginning, Ramesh Mantri, President, Samskrit Bharti Nagpur Mahanagar felicitated the chief guest witha Sanskrit book.The event commenced with lighting of traditional lamp and Sanskrit Vandana by Shweta Paunikar. Shriniwas Varnekar, Vice President, Samskrit Bharti Nagpur Mahanagar welcomed the chief guest and delivered the introductory remarks. Dr Mohan Khedkar; and Dr Sambhaji Patil, Secretary, Samskrit Bharti Nagpur Mahanagar also shared the dais. Asst Secretary Vidya A proposed a vote of thanks.
