On Wednesday, Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President Jitu Patwari returned to Bhopal from Delhi and broke former minister P C Sharma’s fast. On this occasion, Deputy Leader of Opposition in MP Assembly Hemant Katare also reached the fasting venue with him. During this, Patwari garlanded the picture of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and performed Kanya Poojan. Notably, former minister P C Sharma along with his Congress colleagues was on fast for the last two days near Roshanpura intersection against the continuous exploitation, rape and atrocities on sisters and daughters in Madhya Pradesh.
During the same, Patwari said that Madhya Pradesh ranks first in the country in the number of rape cases against women and girls. Every day 18-20 cases are happening, due to which there is an atmosphere of fear among the mothers and sisters of the family. The state is heading towards anarchy due to the Mohan Yadav government and its ruined law and order.
“Why is the head of the government not taking any punitive action against the administration, and has turned into a mute spectator to the incidents happening with the sisters and daughters by closing his eyes, ears and mouth?
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav should answer this?” Patwari asked. Significantly, Sharma was on a fast against the rape, exploitation and other heinous crimes happening with girls and women in Madhya Pradesh. As per information, Sharma had written a letter to the Prime Minister, Governor of Madhya Pradesh and Chief Minister requesting the state government to make laws to stop these incidents and take strict action against the criminals and has requested them to issue an alert app number.
He reminded them that the Congress government was fully prepared to operate the said app, but the operation of the said app was disrupted after the government left. Sharma said that the BJP government should make an app in the name of Durga App to stop atrocities on women and girls, whose network should be spread across the state. On this occasion, District City Congress Committee President Praveen Saxena, District Congress Rural President Rural Anokhi Mansingh Patel and other office bearers of the party were present.
