“Jabalpur will host the 68th State Level Schools’ Sports Meet 2024 of Fencing, Road Cycling, Boxing and Yoga Olympiad Competitions. Around more than 1000 boys and girls players and 200 officials will attend the State sports meet in their respective disciplines,” informed Ghanshyam Soni, District Education Officer, while addressing a press conference, on Sunday.

 

DEO, Ghanshyam Soni informed that under the auspices of District Administration and School Education Department, Jabalpur will host competitions of different disciplines in three phases. In first phase, Fencing and Road Cycling competitions would be organised from October 14 to 18 while Boxing competition would be organised from November 3 to 7 and Yoga Olympiad would be organised from December 16 to 19. Fencing competitions would be organised at Badminton Hall of Ranital Sports Complex while Road Cycling competition would be organised at Khajri Khiriya by-pass road. Boxing and Yoga competitions would be organised at Pandit Lajja Shankha Jha Model School of Excellence. He added that Opening and closing ceremony of the sports meet would be organised at Ranital Sports Complex. In order to fluently operate the proceedings of the competitions, total 18 management committees have been constituted for transportation, boarding, technical committees and other arrangements. During the press conference, Nodal Officer, Mukesh Shrivastava, District Sports Officer, Madhumita Hazra, Publicity In-charge, Ajay Rajak, Krishnakant Sharma, Chandrashekhar Swami, Alok Sharma and others were present.
