Athletes of Saraswati Vidyalaya brought laurels to the school by winning bagful of medals in the District Sports Office organised Inter-School Athletics Competition at the Divisional Sports Complex’s synthetic track, Mankapur Nagpur.
Ritika Sankat, Aastha Rawat, Srushti Lokhande, Shesh Vaidya, Sanay Thaiker, Abhinav Sharma, Ayushman Singh Rawat were the medal winners.
Srushti Lokhande bagged a gold medal in girls Under-17 high jump while Shesh Vaidya also bagged the yellow metal in boys category.
Ritika Sankat won the silver medal in the 800m 1500m and 3000m U-19 girls events. Similarly, in U-19 boys category, Sanay Thaiker bagged silver in high jump. Aastha Rawat bagged gold medal in shot put and silver in discus throw in girls U-19 age group.Abhinav Sharma and Ayushmaan Singh Rawat finished on top two spot in pole vault in U-17 boys category. Iccha Dhote bagged third place in U-14 discus throw while Samiksha Pithore bagged bronze medals in shot put and discuss throw in U-17 girls category. All the medal winning athletes have qualified for division level meet to be held at Chandrapur from October 17. TK Venkatesh, President, SIES; V Meenakshi, Secretary, SIES congratulated the athletes and coaches. Pushpa Ananthanarayan, HM, Sec Dep; Laxmi S, AHM Sec Dep; Supervisor R Kulkarni , Rahul Ghode, PETs Brijmohan Singh Rawat and Pushpak Tambekar congratulated the players.
