DELHI Public School, Kamptee stunned hosts St John’s High School to clinch the Fr Peter Mermier Football Trophy, the other day. In the final, DPS beat St John’s 4-3 via tie-breaker after both the teams failed to break the deadlock in the regulation time. In the tie-breaker, Asad Akbani, Devesh Patil, Yash Ranglani and Pranjal Gupta scored for Delhi Public School while for St John’s Ojas Sirsat, Ishmeet Bahoriya and Mayank Bodele scored. The winners received a trophy. Rev Fr PM Joseph, Rev Fr Vishwas Torne and Rev Fr Bosco were the guests of the prize distribution function. A rolling trophy was also given to St John’s.

 

The tournament was successfully organised by Savio Andrew, Alan Kujur and Ankush Bhadange. AWARDS Best player of the tournament: Ojas Sirsat (St John’s Highschool). Best player of the Final: KaabAnsari (DPS Kamptee). Best Midfielder: IshmeetBahoriya (St John’s HighSchool). Best Defender: Devesh Patil(DPS Kamptee). Best Forward: Asad Akbani(DPS Kamptee).
