Vidarbha claim 1st innings lead
PLAYWELL, one of the older teams affiliated to Vidarbha Bridge Association, polished up their image just that little bit last Sunday, as they emerged champions in Maste Memorial Open Bridge Tournament organised at VBA sports complex. They succeeded in regaining the top perch once again, an act which this team has done most often over the past few years.
Competing in 50 deals contest, Playwell scored 70.89 VP and seized the top honours. Their team consisted of father and son duo of Raja and Amit Rewatkar and Kumra brothers Neeraj and Sanjeev. Playwell began their trail to the top spot with a confident 18.84 VP against Black Tea.
Thereafter from second through to the fifth round, they earned 12.11 VP vs Mohota, 8.15 VP vs Khelo India, 15.75 VP vs Friends and 15.97 VP vs Team Axis.
Mohota finished runners-up with 61.41 VP. Their team included Basant Mohota, S Chhajjed, R Deshpande, Samir Roy and Anilkumar Mohota.
Attractive cash prizes were awarded to all the winners. Amit Rewatkar was the tournament director for this brain game.
