Chaos was created at Rail Coaching Depot when fire broke out during maintenance of coaches in Jabalpur Division, on Monday evening. Fire occurred outside a rail coach when maintenance works was underway. Witnessing the fire, employees started rushing away from the spot and news of fire incident in coaching depot was spread throughout the area. Rapidly spreading news of fire incident leads to spread of rumours mentioning the sensitivity of situation as workers stranded in the burning coaches which caught fire during welding work and a loud noise of explosion due to explosion in batteries in the battery car.

 

West Central Railway, CPRO, Harshit Shrivastava, while talking to ‘The Hitavada’, informed that there was a minor fire occurred at the coaching depot but there is no harm to any individual or property loss to the railways. Fire occurred near a coach and alert employees used fireball to douse the fire. Loud noise of bursting fireball to control the fire created panic amongst the public. Team of senior officers is investigating the matter to ascertain reason behind the fire incident.
