STATE’s first Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) plant will come up in Bhilai as Bhilai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) on Monday, have signed an agreement in the same context. In presence of District Collector Richa Prakash Chaudhary, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was executed by BMC Commissioner Bajrang Dubey. According to information, with processing wet waster of Bhilai, Durg, Risali and Bhilai-Charoda the plant will produce compressed bio-gas.
 
The wet wastes will be transported to the agency concerned by the corporations. As outcome of Chhattisgarh Bio Fuel Development Agency the MoU was signed with BPCL for materialising the State’s first CBG plant. Speaking on the occasion, District Collector Richa Prakash Chaudhary said that it was the historic moments for BMC to sign agreement for the state’s first CBG plant. She also praised BMC Commissioner Bajrang Dubey for the sincere efforts for ensuring the agreement for the plant. BMC Commissioner Bajrang Dubey said that the CBG plant will prove to be a milestone for Bhilai, Durg, Risali and Bhilai-Charoda corporations. It needs a mention that in the past the tripartite MoU was signed by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai in presence of Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao for setting up the plant for production of the biogas and in sequence the MoU was signed by BMC and BPCL on Monday. BMC Mayor Neeraj Pal, BMC Commissioner Lokesh Chandrakar, Risali Commissioner Monika Verma, Bhilai-Charoda Corporation Commissioner Dashrath Singh and senior officials were present on the occasion.
