A 14-member media delegation from Chhattisgarh, led by Deputy Director of Press Information Bureau (PIB) Raipur Ramesh Jaibhaye, visited the Integrated Check Post (ICP) and Land Port on the India-Bangladesh border near Akhaura Road in Agartala, Tripura. During their visit on Tuesday, the media persons interacted with Commandant of Border Security Force (BSF) 42 Battalion Ajay Kumar, Manager of Land Ports Authority of India Tripura D Nandi, and other officials.

Commandant Kumar informed the team that security measures had been tightened at the ICP and Land Port following unrest in Bangladesh against the administration of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Manager Nandi revealed that visitor traffic between the two countries had decreased by over 50% since the unrest. Daily crossings had dropped from 1000-2000 to 300-450. Both countries have suspended new visa issuance in the wake of the unrest. The media team departed Raipur for Kolkata by flight on Tuesday morning, then continuing to Agartala. They were warmly welcomed by PIB Tripura officials upon arrival.
