YOUNG skaters from Shivaji Skating Club, Gandhinagar delivered spectacular performances in a skating event organised by Maharashtra Skating Academy recently. The event, that took place at the Gandhinagar Skating Rink, witnessed Shivaji skaters clinching 29 gold, six silver, and four bronze medals.
At the outset, the event was inaugurated by the former Rajya Sabha MP Ajay Sancheti, who extended his best wishes to all the young athletes. MSA Secretary Suresh Shriwas, international skater Raj Hiranwar, Harsh Kanojia and Krishna Baisware were among the dignitaries present at the event.
The competition featured various skating formats, including beginners, fancy-inline and quad-inline, with participation open to different age groups from Under-3 to 14 years. A total of 250 competitors took part in the event.
The following athletes from the club excelled at the trials: Nyura Sontakey, Shaurya Nirbhay Sancheti, Aamiksh Kumar, Vivaan Agarwal, Inaya Siriya, Manasvi Jha, Anant Chokhani, Araya Agarwal, Krishna Agarwal, Mehar Agarwal, Aveer Tapadiya, Riyan Khoria, Jatin Takbhawre, Umang Nitinavare, Vedant Makireddy, Nirvi Agarwal, Jishu Sai Devathi, Riyansh Raut, Geetank Sinha, Sanidhya Dudhane, Shlok Agarwal, Devanshi Sharanagat, Vyom Siriya, Riyan Mohabe, Lohitesh Dule, Achintya Jichkar, Vedant Gawli, Vani Sarda, Aayansh Rawat, Akshan Rawat, Devanshu Waghare, Aryan Bandkhane, Ishan Tiwari, Agasya Bajaj, Raunak Kirpade, Lakshya Raikwar and Anaya Fulsunge.
All of these athletes are selected for the national-level competition, organised by the Speed Skating Federation of India to be held in Belgaum. They credited their success to coaches Krishna Baisware, Tina Kanojia, and Shyam Patil.
