In a significant crackdown, the Food Safety Administration Department has seized a shipment of 1,600 kilograms of mawa (khoya) in Bhopal. The illicit goods were discovered in the trunk of a bus parked at the ISBT (Inter-State Bus Terminal) during routine vehicle checks conducted on Monday morning. The operation revealed that 40 baskets of mawa were stored in the trunk of the bus, which had arrived in Bhopal from Gwalior. Due to concerns about the quality and safety of the product, samples of the khoya have been sent to a laboratory for testing. Interestingly, no owner of the mawa was present at the scene when the authorities conducted their investigation.

Officials are currently working to determine the ownership of the seized mawa and its intended destination. This incident highlights the vigilance of the Food Safety Administration in ensuring food safety standards are maintained and addressing the risks associated with substandard or potentially unsafe food products. The investigation continues as authorities seek to uncover more details surrounding the origin and distribution of the seized mawa.
