Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav extended his greetings and best wishes to all officials and employees of Madhya Pradesh on the auspicious occasion of Diwali and the State’s Foundation Day on November 1. He announced that the State Government has decided to increase the dearness allowance (DA) for all officials and employees by 4 per cent on this occasion.
This day serves as a reminder of the state’s establishment and its glorious past.
Dr Yadav mentioned that the Finance Department had approved a 46% dearness allowance for Government employees on March 14, 2024. According to this approval, the increased rate of dearness allowance has been effective since July 1, 2023, and the arrears will be paid in installments. From January 1, 2024, Government employees will receive a dearness allowance at a rate of 50%. The payment of arrears will be made in four equal installments within the current financial year.
The Chief Minister praised all officials and employees, recognising their dedication, hard work, and positive outlook, which have given them a special identity among the
employee class across the country.
He emphasised the government’s responsibility to ensure the welfare of its employees. Dr Yadav acknowledged that the commitment of Government employees has propelled Madhya Pradesh towards a brighter future, and he expressed heartfelt gratitude for their contributions to the state’s progress and development.
On Diwali, the Chief Minister urged citizens to take care of themselves and look after those around them, emphasising a collective effort to ensure that even the poorest individuals in the State can celebrate and find joy.
