It was a heartbreak for Nagpur hoopsters as the girls team suffered defeat in the final of the Maharashtra State Youth Basketball Championship held at Shivaji Nagar Gymkhana. In the girls section, Pune beat host Nagpur 60-38 to claim the title with Kavya Peshkar scoring a match high of 14 points. Kanishka Mande scored eight points for the winning side. In boys section, Jalgaon beat Nasik 50-37 to emerge champion.
 
For the winners, Devesh Patil scored eight points while for the losing side Avanish Choudhary scored 10 points. Cash prizes worth Rs 60 thousands were distributed along with individual prizes. P Selvaganesh, Vice-President, Tamil Nadu Basketball Association and Director General NADT gave away the prizes. President of Maha Basketball Association Anand Sancheti, former president Dhananjay Welukar, Jayant Deshmukh, Rajesh Kshatriya, Mahesh Upadeo, Sameer Shrivastav were present also present. Shatrughna Gokhale conducted the proceedings and proposed a vote of thanks.
