HC ‘no’ to stay Collector’s order of ‘Dry Day’ today

Legal Correspondent Ordering notice to the respondents, State of Maharashtra, Collector, Nagpur and others, to make
submissions in reply to the writ petition filed by Rajmohan Restaurant and Bar against the impugned order passed by the Collector on October 23, 2024, declaring November 23, 2024 as ‘Dry Day’ due to counting of votes of State Assembly elections,
 
Justice Nitin Borkar at the High Court here has observed that he is not inclined to grant any interim relief. In the order passed by the High Court, after hearing the lawyers for more than two hours, the Court has pointed out that the impugned order was passed declaring November 23, 2024 as ‘Dry Day’, was passed on October 23, 2024. This petition has been filed almost after one month. Adv Shyam Dewani and Adv Sahil Dewani appeared for the petitioner from Jaripatka. Senior Counsel Deven Chauhan, the Government Pleader along with AGP Kalyani Deshpande represented the respondent - State, Collector and another.
