VIDARBHA girls qualified for the knock-out stage of the U-15 One-Day Trophy after posting a big win over Mizoram in Raipur on Friday. Vidarbha finished with 16 points with an NRR of 2.092 and were placed second in Group E behind Gujarat (16 points, NRR 2.122) to qualify for the pre-quarter-final stage.
Vidarbha will face Rajasthan in Jaipur in their pre-quarter-final match on December 10.
Skipper Sakshi Bhupal starred with the bat and ball as Vidarbha dominated the contest from the first ball and won by eight wickets.
Sakshi claimed two wickets for 11 runs and made an unbeaten 32 to steal the show. Apart from Sakshi, three other bowlers — Swara Thakare (2-1), Sweta Tiwari (2-9) and Riddhi Tundalwar (2-10) —picked two wickets apiece to bundle out Mizoram for 51 runs in 28.2 overs.
Sakshi then anchored the chase to perfection to lead her team to victory in only 8.1 overs.
