A man stabbed four people, including his wife, father, mother, and neighbour, in a fit of rage after his father asked him to return to work. The shocking incident was reported in the Hudkeshwar police station area, and the injured individuals are recovering at a private hospital. The police have arrested Kunal Anandrao Bhandarkar (35), a resident of Plot No 82, Durgesh Nandini Society. According to the police, Kunal had been unemployed for several months and even mortgaged his motorcycle and taken out significant loans. As a result, Anandrao had forced him to leave home 15 days earlier. Kunal had managed to secure a job at Plasto Company in Hingna. On Friday, Kunal’s mother called him and invited him home for Diwali. He arrived home on Friday night.

 

On Saturday, he left home, telling his parents he was going to the company at 8 AM. He returned at 6 PM. Anandrao, angered by his son’s return, questioned him about not going to work. Kunal, enraged by his father’s comments, grabbed a knife and stabbed him. His wife, Aarti, and mother, Maya, intervened to stop him, but he stabbed them as well. A neighbour, Pravin Mulkar, heard the commotion and came to help Anandrao, but he too was stabbed by Kunal. The injured persons were admitted to the hospital. The police have registered a case under Section 109 of the BNS and arrested the accused. A senior police official stated that Kunal appeared to be erratic and may have been under the influence of alcohol when the incident occurred. He added that Kunal had no prior criminal history.
