Indian Railways is set to run approximately 7,500 special trains, a significant increase from the 4,500 special trains operated last year for convenience of passengers during festival season. To ensure the smooth operation of these services and the timely movement of trains, the Railway Board has established special control rooms at the zonal, divisional and station levels to address any potential issues. To facilitate passenger travel, Indian Railways has implemented various arrangements, including deploying additional staff and Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel to manage the orderly boarding of passengers. Furthermore, additional coaches have been reserved at key stations to accommodate increased passenger traffic, which can be converted into special trains as needed. More than 168 special trains ran on November 2 and 188 special trains were operated on November 3. Special trains run under West Central Railway include Riva - Rani Kamla Pati - Riva Superfast Special Train, Rani Kamla Pati - Danapur - Rani Kamla Pati Express Special Train, Jabalpur - Danapur - Jabalpur Express Special Train, Kota - Danapur - Kota Special Train and Katni Sawath - Chopan - Katni Sawath Special Train. Passengers can obtain detailed information about special trains’ stops through the Railway Helpline at 139 or online. In light of the anticipated increase in passenger traffic during the festive season, the railway administration has implemented necessary safety measures like enhanced security at trains and platforms, security measures at train entry and exit points have been strengthened and staffers are checking passenger belongings on platforms to ensure safety. The RPF is managing the orderly boarding of passengers.

Additional RPF personnel have been assigned at major railway stations and on trains to ensure safety and security. Passengers are encouraged to take care of their belongings during travel and to avoid bringing suspicious items into railway premises. Caution is advised when boarding and alighting from trains. The deployment of CCTV cameras at railway stations and platforms has been enhanced to monitor suspicious activities. A control room has been established at railway stations, operational 24/7, to provide immediate assistance for any issues faced by passengers. The RPF requests all passengers to report any suspicious activities to the security forces promptly. Your safety is our top priority.
