“Nagpur is a pool of musical talent, and youngsters must pursue their passion with dedication and balance in every aspect of life, including their studies, to achieve greatness and make their country proud,” said Shekhar Ravjiani, renowned singer and music composer, while speaking at the grand finale of the first ever ‘Global Indian Stars’, a talent hunt contest hosted by Global Indian International School (GIIS), held on Saturday. Aarav Junankar, Naavya Pankey and Shravani Kamble emerged victorious in 7 to 10 age category, while Shravani Khandale, Dorphi Janbandhu and Aeshwarya Bargat claimed the top spot in 11 to 16 age group. From over 1,500 contestants across the region in two categories of Vocals and Instrumentals, a jury of experts shortlisted the top 100 entries, culminating in 20 finalists delivering live performances that captivated the audience.

The winners received prizes worth up to Rs 4 lakhs, scholarships to continue their education at Global Indian International School, Nagpur, and an opportunity to join the prestigious program under Global Schools Sheykhar Ravjiani School of Music. Atul Temurnikar, Chairman, GSG, congratulated the winners. “I am proud to call Nagpur my hometown, seeing that the city is teeming with talented youngsters who will make us proud in future,” he said. He assured that GIIS would organise more such competitions in the future, providing local students in Nagpur with a platform to showcase their talents.
