This Winter Session of Maharashtra State Legislature in Nagpur will not have Question Hour. To schedule Question Hour, the questions are to be submitted by the members of the State Assembly and Council 30 days in advance to the session. Since that much time was not available, nobody was able to submit question, which means Nagpur session will go without holding Question Hour.
Devendra Fadnavis took oath as Chief Minister on December 5. After that, the Business Advisory Committee met and decided the schedule of Winter Session of State Legislature to begin on December 16, 2024.
The time was less so Government had to skip the Question Hour.
While talking to ‘The Hitavada’, an expert on condition of anonymity said, “Session of State Legislature without Question Hour is not new. Normally, when new Government comes, it does not have time to seek questions and then, the session is to be conducted without Question Hour. Though the session is for only a week, the full office of Mantralaya will land at Nagpur from Mumbai.”
Restriction on passes
Though the Vidhan Bhavan Secretariat has not yet taken any decision on distribution of entry passes, it is likely that some restrictions would be imposed, especially, care is likely to be taken on the number of people.
Data server room
For the first time, Nagpur’s Vidhan Bhavan will have server room. Complete digitisation is being done. All members have laptops on their tables. All the data gathered, collected would be saved in a server. A server room is being developed, where all the data remains safe permanently. Such type of server room was developed in Mumbai. Now same type of server room is being developed in Nagpur to prevent any damage to the data.
