Chhindwara BJP leader Raghuvanshi commits suicide by shooting himself

 

 

 

In Chhindwara, BJP leader and former Municipal President, Kanhai Ram Raghuvanshi committed suicide by shooting himself. The incident took place at 10.30 am on Friday. Raghuvanshi was at his bungalow in Shri Ganesh Colony. He closed the door of the upper room and shot himself with a 15 bore rifle. At the time of the incident, the family members were downstairs. The body was taken out by breaking the door of the room. Additional SP, Awadhesh Pratap Singh said that the incident is being investigated. Kanhai Ram Raghuvanshi was made the district co-ordinator in the Assembly Elections. Kanhai Ram, who is counted among the experienced leaders, was the Nagar Palika Adhyaksh for 10 years. It is believed that due to his undisputed image, he was the first choice of party workers and leaders. Kanhai Ram is considered close to Assembly Speaker, Narendra Tomar.

 

The reason for Kanhai Ram’s suicide has not been revealed yet. It is being told that the BJP leader shot himself with his revolver. As soon as the information of suicide was received, BJP leaders, workers and acquaintances started reaching the spot. There is a crowd of people outside the house. Police is also engaged in investigation at the suicide spot. Kanhai Ram Raghuvanshi has held big posts. Kanhai Ram Raghuvanshi had held many small and big posts in BJP. He started his political career as Sarpanch. He had been the District President of BJP more than twice and the President of Nagar Palika Chhindwara twice. Currently, he was a member of the BJP State Working Committee.
