Lieutenant General P S Shekhawat, General Officer Commanding, Madhya Bharat Area briefed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the comprehensive preparations underway for the historic Mahakumbh Mela 2025 during his visit at Akshay Vat and Saraswati Koop. It may be noted that PM Narendra Modi along with Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, recently visited the revered Akshay Vat and Saraswati Koop within the historic Allahabad Fort. The visit was meticulously prepared under the guidance of Lt Gen P S Shekhawat. Lt Gen Shekhawat briefed the Prime Minister about the comprehensive preparations underway for the historic Mahakumbh Mela 2025. The preparations included extensive infrastructure upgrades and modernization projects aimed at ensuring the smooth conduct of the Mahakumbh Mela, a monumental event that draws millions of pilgrims from across the country.
 
During the briefing, Lt Gen Shekhawat lauded the relentless efforts of the teams involved and emphasized the Indian Army's unwavering commitment to supporting civil authorities and contributing to the development of essential infrastructure that benefits both the military and civilian populations. The ongoing projects include the modernization of medical facilities to provide the best possible care for the anticipated influx of visitors and pilgrims. PM, Modi appreciated the comprehensive preparations made by the Indian Army and expressed confidence that the well-planned arrangements will ensure the success of the Mahakumbh Mela. The Mahakumbh Mela 2025 is expected to be a landmark event, and the preparations demonstrating the Army’s commitment to national service in all its facets.
