JM PATEL College girls and CP & Berar College boys emerged champions in the inter-collegiate handball tournament, jointly organised by the Department of Sports and Physical Education of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University and Jyotiba College of Physical Education.
Patel girls defeated Ishwar Deshmukh College of Physical Education in the final while Jyotiba College of Physical Education secured third place.
CP & Berar boys emerged champs, with Jyotiba College of Physical Education and College of Multidisciplinary Studies (CMS) taking second and third positions, respectively.
Dr Vishakha Joshi (Director, Dept of Sports and Physical Education, RTMNU); Dr Madhavi Mardikar (Co-ordinator, PGTD), Dr. Prashant Kadu (Dean, Interdisciplinary Studies Faculty), Dr VB Datarkar (Principal, Jyotiba), Dr Surendra Tiwari (Teacher In-Charge), Sameer Chitnis (CFO, Priyadarshini Group), and Nana Satpute were present during closing ceremony.
Winners received their prizes from the dignitaries with international handball player Harpreet Singh Randhawa making a special appearance.
The event was moderated by Dr Sonali Bandre and Datarkar proposed vote of thanks.
Dr Raju Raut, Dr Mohan Kadve, Dr Bandre, Prof Mahesh Mahato, Prof Nitin Yemde and non-teaching staff took efforts to make the event a huge success.
