The 11th Bhopal Science Fair kicked off with a focus on science and innovation, emphasizing the need for building bridges between science and society. Speaking at the inaugural session, Shri Praveen Ramdas, National Co-Organization Secretary of Vijnana Bharati, highlighted the importance of aligning science with practical life. He emphasized the contributions of former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and other great scientists, urging that science be used for national development. Technology, stressed the significance of explaining science in the mother tongue to increase interest and participation. He encouraged students to adopt a scientific outlook while being aware of their fundamental duties. The first day of the fair showcased over 150 scientific models, with school and college students presenting their innovations. A session on science talent awards was held, where Dr. N. Satish, Chief Scientist at MPRE, answered students’ questions. Additionally, a talk on the ‘Learn and Earn’ scheme was conducted, discussing career opportunities in science and skill-based training. The fair, which will run from December 27 to 30 at Jamboree Ground, Bhopal, also features workshops, exhibitions, and displays from organizations like ISRO, DRDO, and NTPC. The central theme of this year’s event is “Developed India 2047: The Foundation of Science, Technology, and Innovation.”
