The Emergency Medical Room at Bhopal Railway Station saved the life of a pregnant woman on the night of December 27. Shiva, a 27-year-old pregnant woman, was travelling with her husband, Anjar Ahmed, on the Telangana Express (Train No. 12723) from Hyderabad to New Delhi. Around 9 pm, while the train was nearing Obedullaganj station, Shiva suddenly experienced severe labour pains, putting her life in serious danger.
Recognising the gravity of the situation, the Commercial Control immediately informed SS Commercial Ashok Nagar, who quickly contacted the Emergency Medical Room at Bhopal Railway Station. As the train arrived at Platform No. 2 at 9:40 pm, Head T C Mahendra Singh Rajput and the medical team, including Dr Aman Mishra and a female compounder, were already prepared with a stretcher.
The woman was given primary treatment on the train and was immediately rushed to the hospital.
Dr Aman Mishra from Atharv Jyoti Hospital stated, “The Emergency Medical Room at Bhopal Railway Station is proving to be a life-saver for passengers. Our collaboration with the railway has been successful in providing immediate and effective medical assistance during emergencies.”
This Emergency Medical Room, inaugurated by the DRM on December 24, 2024, has played a crucial role in saving lives and offering prompt medical care to passengers. The efficient co-ordination between the railway and hospital has been essential in ensuring passenger safety during such critical moments. The facility at Bhopal Railway Station continues to serve as a beacon of hope for passengers in emergency situations.
