Various programmes mark MAFSU’s silver jubilee celebrations

 

Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University, Nagpur (MAFSU), established on December 3, 2000, has entered its silver jubilee year. Various programs were organized at the university to mark the university's foundation day, which includes lectures, distribution of best officers and employee awards, felicitation of meritorious children of the employees etc. On this day, the university flag was hoisted at the university headquarters as well as in all the constituent colleges and other establishments of the university. After the flag hoisting ceremony at the university, a program was organized in the Silver Jubilee Auditorium of Nagpur Veterinary College.

 

The program was presided over by the Vice Chancellor of the university Dr Niteen Patil and Shantiswaroop Bhatnagar awardee Dr Niyaz Ahmed, and Field Director of the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve Dr Jitendra Ramgaonkar graced the occasion. Both Dr Niyaz Ahmed and Dr Ramgaonkar are alumni of Nagpur Veterinary College. During the program, the Best Teacher Award was presented to Dr Sunil Wankhede of Parbhani Veterinary College, the Best Researcher Award was presented to Dr Shailesh Ingole of Mumbai Veterinary College, and the Best Research Article Award was presented to Dr N. K. Jogdand and others of Mumbai Veterinary College.

 

The Best Extention Officer Awards were presented to Dr Sariput Landge and Dr Vaishali Bathia of Nagpur Veterinary College for the year 2023 and 2024, respectively. Praveen Bagde from the University's Extension Education Directorate was honored with the Best Officer Award and Bhimrao Patil from the Veterinary College, Akola was honored with the best Employee Award. On this occasion, the Director of Instructions Dr Shirish Upadhye, Director of Research Dr Nitin Kurkure, Director Extention Education Dr Anil Bhikane, Dean Lower Education Dr Sachin Bonde, Registrar Mona Thakur, Comptroller Finance and Accounts Manisha Shende, University Librarian Sunil Gawande, University Engineer Arif Shaikh, Associate Dean of Nagpur Veterinary College Dr A. P. Somkuwar, Associate Dean of Fishery Science College Dr Amle were present. The programme was conducted by Dr Mahesh Jawale and vote of thanks was presented by Dr Atul Dhok.
